Surfs Up

Here's some information on some of Florida's beautiful east coast beaches (for more information you can visit http://vacationidea.com/florida/best-beaches-near-orlando.html)

Daytona Beach

With NASCAR, the LPGA, the Daytona International Speedway, more than 50 art, music, and other unique pop culture festivals throughout the year, and 23 miles of sandy, white beaches,  Daytona Beach  is the ultimate family vacation place. As far as Orlando beaches go, this is a great choice for the closest beach to Orlando. There are ten well-maintained beachfront parks promising endless oceanfront fun with picnic areas, splash parks, pavilions, restrooms, playgrounds, and boardwalks for fishing.

Welcome to Sebastian Inlet State Park

The premier saltwater fishing spot on Florida's east coast, this park is a favorite for anglers nationwide for catching snook, redfish, bluefish and Spanish mackerel from its jetties. Surfing is also a popular recreation and several major competitions are held here every year. Two museums provide a history of the area. The McLarty Treasure Museum features the history of the 1715 Spanish treasure fleet; the Sebastian Fishing Museum tells the history of the area's fishing industry. Three miles of beautiful beaches provide opportunities for swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, shelling, and sunbathing. Canoeing and kayaking in the Indian River Lagoon are also favorite pastimes. Visitors can relax with a stroll down the mile-long Hammock Trail. Waterfront pavilions and picnic areas are great for family outings. A campground for RVs and tent campers is available along with a boat ramp. Located on State Road A1A, 15 miles south of Melbourne Beach.

Paradise Beach Park

This park is perfection. Free parking, clean bathrooms, volleyball courts, food truck, lifeguard, and playground. Perfect for families and people of all ages. Not too crowded with clear blue water next to a clean shore. Would recommend to anyone visiting and all of my friends.

Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach, along Florida's Space Coast, makes for an out-of-this-world family vacation. Your group can ride some waves, check out Cocoa Beach's world-famous pier, marvel at Ron Jon's, the world's largest surf shop, hike through nature preserves, and explore mankind's greatest journey at the nearby Kennedy Space Center. NASA's launch headquarters is the only place on Earth where you can tour launch-pad areas, meet a veteran astronaut, see giant rockets, train in spaceflight simulators and – if your timing is just right – even view a launch. Don’t miss the historic Cocoa Village of Cocoa Beach, a revitalized, nostalgic riverside community with more than 50 shops, restaurants, galleries and artist studios. And remember this: Cocoa Beach is only an hour’s drive east of Orlando, making it a great day trip for theme park visitors.

Cocoa Beach

Indialantic is a relatively small beach town between Satellite Beach and Melbourne Beach on Florida's Atlantic Coast, about 20 minutes or so south of Cocoa Beach. The name "Indialantic" is a combination of "Indian" and "Atlantic." The town is located on the barrier island between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean, and is connected to Melbourne by the Melbourne Causeway, which is also 5th Avenue. It dead-ends at the beach at James Nance Park.
